Once you’re in the main WordPress dashboard for your website, you’re ready to start learning more about your website.

Before we get into the nitty gritty, however, you should take a moment to familiarize yourself with the WordPress dashboard in general.

To begin, click on the “Dashboard” link in the sidebar if you aren’t there already.

This is, effectively, the “home” screen for the WordPress side of your website.

On your screen you should see two main menus.

The first is the primary WordPress Admin bar at the top of your screen, which we discussed in the previous lesson.

The second is the primary navigation bar in the sidebar on the left side of your screen.

The top menu is the “admin” menu for your website, and primarily includes links and tools that affect your site as a whole.

It can also help you navigate quickly between the front and back ends of your website.

The sidebar menu, on the other hand, contains all of the settings and functions you’ll need to manage your website.

It can be a bit overwhelming at first, but don’t panic.

The whole point of this course is to help you get comfortable with navigating through the various menus and settings you’ll find in this sidebar.

For now, just get comfortable switching between the homepage of your site and the WordPress dashboard, and glance at the various tabs present in your site’s sidebar.
